It’s Official: Letourneau-Leblond Best Name of First Half
It’s been a week, a lot of you have voted, and it’s time to announce the first winner of the TPL Best Name Contest. Receiving 37% of the votes was New Jersey Devil Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond, a name so long that the Devils stepped in and said, “listen homeboy, pick one…”
Coming in second, with 19% of the votes, was Zenon Konopka of the Nashville Predators. The rest of the standings:
3. Roman “Walking Oxymoron” Polak
4. Evander Kane
T5. Dustin “Somehow Pronounced Bufflin” Byfuglien
T5. Marc “Bird is the Word” Fistric
T5. Milan Hejduk
T5. Niklas “Superintendent” Hjalmarsson
T5. Dan “Big Sexy” Sexton
T5. Zbynek “Buy a Vowel” Michalek
T11. Artem Anisimov
T11. BJ Crombeen
T11. Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers
Receving absolutely no love from the voters was Nigel “Not British, Actually a Black Guy” Dawes, Patric Hornqvist, and Raffi “Bananaphone” Torres.
For each game, I’ll continue picking a Best Name Nominee, and at the end of the season, pit them all against Letourneau-Leblond. Congratulations P-LL-L!
