Kindl Recalled

Well, that was fast. Just as the pre-game is posted, we learn that Jakub Kindl, has in fact been recalled. Can I patent the nickname “Amazon” for him or what?

Kindl, pictured above on his ninth birthday, will play in tomorrow’s Oilers game if Brian Rafalski’s back continues to be all geriatric-like.

UPDATE
Kindl will, in fact, be in the lineup vs. the Oilers, according to Ansar Khan. Not only is he getting in the game, even HE is playing on the power play before Johnny Ericsson. Said Uncle Mike:

“We’ll think about it a little more and see how the game’s going and the rhythm we get in,” Babcock said. “Our forwards got to do a real good job tonight to protect our D. Kindl’s a real good player, moves the puck real well. He’ll play on our first power play tonight because he has that kind of ability.”

  1. At least the pic shows us he was a Wing from the beginning! Like a lot of other people, I'm looking forward to seeing him play. It just sucks that we had to lose half our D to make it happen.

Tell me, will we one day look back on this season and laugh? Or cry?

  2. I think it's a good thing to get him in games, as I've said here before. He's next year's Jonathan Ericsson. He can't be waived anymore, and he's on a one-way contract, so you can bet your booty he'll be in Motown next season. The difference is Ericsson played 27 games with the Red Wings over two seasons (and an additional 22 games in the post-season). Kindl is still waiting for his chance to play a game with the big club, and it would seem like NOW IS THE TIME with 43 regulars injured…

  3. So we now have three guys out of our starting defense pair from last year. Hopefully Kindl will show that he can be a starter in the future years.
