Not postseason. Ozzie has had much more success.

I assume he’d get as many as Osgood.

You know… zero.

I’m thinking this signals that Ozzie won’t be ready in time for any regular season action and they don’t want to go with a Howie/MacD platoon. Obviously once the playoffs start they can bring Ozzie off of LTIR and have all three since roster limits expand

D’oh! Didn’t know about Howie’s deal coming to an end. And I just rechecked stats on Wikipedia, Nabby and Ozzie are dead-even, on paper.

This is the final year of both Chris Osgood and Jimmy Howard’s deals.

They CAN have three goaltenders, but would prefer not to (obviously). Like I said, there’s nothing stopping one or the other from being re-waived.

And further, maybe Chris Osgood can’t return, physically. It’d be a sad way to learn about that, but stranger things have happened.

I could see him retiring if that contract is up this year. He finally got a milestone he’s been looking for and Nabakov is just as good as Ozzie has been in recent years.

They cant have 3 goalie’s on the roster, can they? Does this signal the end for osgood if he clears waivers and signs with the wings?

We’ll see come next season.
