I tried to focus on potential first rounders, and I don’t think Petan gets in. But you’re absolutely right — if they make a move and acquire another 2nd rounder, he’s a good bet. He MIGHT be around for #48, but that’s probably pushing it.

Seems like the small, skilled guys the Wings always end up with. I bet if the Wings trade down, he’ll be one of the picks.

They way everyone is talking about this draft is that most of the 1st round could make an NHL impact sooner than later. Obvioulsy the college bound guys would be a few years and the Holland stand pat and season the players method can take some time, a player could force his hand if he were “That” good.

I like Gauthier for his size obviously, but Curtis Lazar has something… Wait, its his name. Lazar the Laser, how good would that be? And if he’s playing the Franzen float game we can call him Lazy as a nickname.

You have a point. And a BIG forward would probably make more sense. But whatever, we won’t see them for 22 years anyway. 😉

I don’t know about Domi. I like him, too, obviously. But there are guys I like BETTER and I don’t want another guy with a familiar name to clog up the top of Grand Rapids with Landon.

I agree with you. I don’t think their first choice is a D. But if the picks above them unfold as they do in the mock, then I’d rather they take a killer defenseman than force a forward pick they’re not sold on. Erne and Mantha won’t be available at 18. But if one is, that’s the pick.

I think your pick for the Wings makes super sense, as does Domi to the Leafs, but good god, I want him.

In an Ideal world, i think sean monohan is a perfect fit for the way we play, but thats not happening. I would love Erne or Mantha, this team NEEDS scoring. Youve got the goaltending in both systems( Howard, Mrazek) Defense up and coming. you need to come away with a guy who scores goals
