Yes, sorry for the confusion. The Red Wings do not have their first round pick, as a result of the Quincey deal, but signing DeKeyser would take the edge off of the fact that the Wings won’t pick until the 50’s.

The Wings lose nothing if they sign DeKeyser or any other free agent, except a contract against the limit of 50.
