I’ll relay the message. =)

There’s an outside chance of that happening, for sure. I’ve been doing Draft stuff all week and I’m pretty comfortable with my Mock Draft (which I’ll publish here on the day of the Draft) and Oleksiak really COULD be available when the Wings pick 24th…but I have to think that someone else will snap up the giant defenseman, particularly since he’s a college kid, meaning there are three more years before they’d have to sign him (as opposed to two for the Junior kids).

Here’s a little sneak peak… I assume the Wings are going to pick a defensemen first because they’ve selected NON-blueliners with their first pick in each of the last three Drafts, after picking something like 11 in a row. With Smith potentially graduating to the big club this year, Rafalski’s sudden retirement, and Lidstrom’s impending retirement… they’re going to need to stock that cupboard again. It’s the smart thing to do in 2011.

One of these guys WILL be available at 24 — and if they aren’t on this preview, they’ll be on Part III: Oscar Klefbom, Jamieson Oleksiak, David Musil, Joseph Morrow, or (the guy I think is MOST likely your newest Red Wing) Jonas Brodin.
