Did you mention anything about H2H2 and fan fundraising for the Children’s Hospital during your weekend? Just asking cuz that donation thing with the BJs (when they beat us) came to mind. Maybe same motivational effect on our Wings to know what goals, assists, etc. could do for the children…

You know how I love to talk sandwiches? Well, I think I’m am going to have to eat a big shit and crow sandwich for the stuff I was saying about Hudler in the first half of the season. He sure has stepped it up as of late and it has really shown in two areas. His passing and his ice awareness. He is no longer just randomly flinging the puck around hoping it hits somebody’s tape. And his positioning without the puck has gotten a lot better. It’s like he had to unlearn the KHL way and remember how to be a Red Wing. It’s almost exactly like that blockbuster of a movie, Hook, where a grown-up Peter Pan has to learn how to be a boy again. Hudler is now racing around the ice yelling, “I CAN FLY, I CAN FLY, I CAN FLYYYYYYYYY.” Hudler, you little imp, you are my Peter Pan.

I noticed the late first tap in thing too, I just hate when guys do that. Reffing a game last week I gave a kid an unsportsmanlike for doing it (he actually shot it AT the goalie, but similar nonetheless) and he couldn’t believe it. Started telling me what a cheap call it was. I just turned to him and said “Shut up and learn some damn respect, now get in the box”
