I would think that last year they allowed more shot, but worked hard to keep them to the outside and that because they played more defensively at time, they allowed less odd man rushes. But that’s just me speculating

He is far more competent than Ozzy when called upon to make big saves, but tends to let in a few little ones too. I’m not sure if this does has something to do with how he’s being coached. Or, if it’s just a lack of getting back in the groove. He can be excellent when he’s needed. But too often this season our defense has been lacking and it is as if he goes to sleep and lets those short handed goals in. I’m still trying to shake visions of him flopping around early in the Calgary game. I’ve been a little afraid that he might not sharpen up. I really hope he does. The Canucks game was truly amazing to watch and showed that he can be an elite goaltender. I guess everyone has their bad weeks. Even Boston has been having a bit of trouble with their goaltending and it had been super solid for a while. Hopefully he’ll settle once again into a nice groove and get back up to a 92% save rate… or at the very least 91%. I’m just gonna ride this one out. I still love Jimmah just like I love Ozzy. Can’t really ask for a better duo right now for such a small amount of money on the roll. Jimmah is still a winning machine and no one can take that from him despite the other numbers. Imagine if he won a few MORE games previously this season…hmmmmmm

I do remember him stopping everyone and everything thrown at him from November to January, and people saying the time off probably slowed him down a little.

And I remember me saying to Osrt and Tyler how I was affraid of a Luongo syndrome, and how Jim played so much better when facing a ton of shots than in those 20-25 shots against games.

As for slump or not, we must say the defense is playing poorly for a while, and he’s facing a lot more 2-on-1s than last season.

His number are decent, and for the most part he’s been a goalie who gives the Wings the chance to win every night. It’s hard to expect him to keep the numbers from last season, that was freakish and we know it.
