He'll likely go one year at a time, then think if he's ready to retire or not in the offseason. I'm sure when he decides to retire he'll stay retired instead of waffling back and forth (like a certain tiresome quarterback, for instance). 🙂

Granted, I'm a pretty big Lidstrom fanboy, but he's proved that even at 39 (almost 40), he's still a #1 defenseman—easily. There's no one in the Wings system that will ever be able to replace him, and honestly every Wings fan should look on the year that we lose Nick Sr with horror and dread.

He's one of those guys that you don't really notice until he's gone.
