I read that last night while out of town – before watching the game – and thought "uh oh… I wonder what Pav passed up on now…"

While it's great that Eaves and Helm are stepping up and generating, they aren't the guys that should be, you're right.

Here's hoping – for TPL and Red White Black and Blue alike – the big'ns step it up!

Dats, Lidstrom and Z do need to step it up. Z at least usually looks like he's trying (last night excepted) but I think Lidstrom might have had a nervous breakdown or something. He's just not himself. Whether he's trying too hard to cover for inexperienced defensemen, or not trying hard enough, I don't know. I just want our old TPH back.

I do love, though, how the non-stars are stepping up and looking stellar. But they can't do everything on their own. At least not yet.

You know you and I have been on the same page (mostly) since July. I'm okay being on the opposite side of the fence re: Bertuzzi. That's what makes life fun. But yes, Z and Datsyuk gotta step it up. Stay tuned to the Rangers pre-game…

@Kris, that must have been the ONE. HA! Honestly, I remember that shot. He was like "wait…what?! That counts as a goal? I'll be damned… that's way easier than getting sticked in the back all goddamn night."

He looked as confused as I was when the puck went in.

As long as we're on the same page with Z/D and everyone else. Best players MUST be better on this team. That's why I'm a little confused when I read recaps (not just here) that take a shot about Bertuzzi but say nothing about Datsyuk and Zetterberg. But I think every blogger would probably still be writing if they listed every single thing that Detroit didn't do right last night.

Sure, Bert probably looked a little worse doing it, but the three of them accomplished about the same thing last night — nothing. And two of them are paid a hell of a lot more money. So right now, while I agree Bert vanished last night, I'm a little more cheesed with Pavs and Z.

I just hate him and enjoy mocking him, but he had been given a pass with strong play lately. That well has run dry. Yes, it only took one game with zero points. HA!

I don't expect him to carry the team on his back, but it'd be swell is someone did. You're right, it should be Z, Datsyuk and Nick. But, with linemates like Leino and Bertuzzi, I can't fault Datsyuk for not generating more offense.

I liked your lines on BDS. We all know how stubborn Babcock can be, though…

Because guys like Datsyuk, Zetterberg, and Lidstrom have just been so great this season, night in and night out. But it's "on" for just Bert, because he's not carrying this team on his back :).
