I remember with the Bertuzzi trade, it was first reported on the radio as Jakub Kindl going back instead of Matthias. I was kinda sketchy on that, but I was thrilled when I found it out was actually Matthias.

Unfortunately he took off the next season, but I didn't completely buy into the Matthias hype. He was ripping up the OHL, but big guys with speed traditionally do have a major advantage in junior hockey. Defensemen are just too small and weak.

He had a pretty bad year this season though. I got really tired of hearing what a bad trade it was for Detroit all during the 07/08 season. I'm still okay with it, because nobody knew Matthias would explode like that for points. In my mind, he still projects the way he always did as a bottom six winger.
